SUMMARY:Online Workshop on Responsible Use of AI
DESCRIPTION:Oulu University of Applied Sciences\, Krems University of Applied Sciences and Vasile Alecsandri University of Bacău warmly invite you to join this interactive online workshop\, where we will explore responsible AI in society\, higher education\, teaching\, research and development.\nDate and time 07.10.2026 at 12:00-16:00\nPlaceTeams: https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/33712331313204?p=85bqKQwHdlsEfS1zoh\n \nBackground\nArtificial intelligence is transforming the way we teach\, learn\, research\, and work. From AI-assisted feedback in classrooms to computer vision systems sorting waste on an industrial scale\, AI is no longer a distant possibility — it is already part of everyday practice in education\, research\, and society at large.\nWith this opportunity comes responsibility. Using AI responsibly means more than following the rules: it means building systems and practices that are secure\, accurate\, fair\, transparent\, and environmentally sustainable. It means being mindful of data protection and regulatory requirements such as the GDPR and the EU AI Act\, while also asking harder questions — Whose data trains these systems? Who is accountable when they fail? How do we preserve human judgement\, critical thinking\, and creativity in a world where AI can generate answers instantly?\nResponsible AI is not only a technical challenge. In education\, it means rethinking assessment so that it values reasoning and understanding rather than just final answers. In research and development\, it means embedding ethics\, security\, and compliance into AI systems from the start rather than adding them as an afterthought. In society more broadly\, it means ensuring AI serves people and the planet — supporting sustainability\, inclusion\, and human wellbeing rather than undermining them.\nThis workshop brings together educators\, researchers\, and industry experts from partner universities to share concrete cases\, exchange practical experience\, and collaboratively explore how the principles of responsible AI can be translated into everyday teaching\, research\, and organisational practice.\nThis workshop is designed for educators\, researchers\, R&D professionals\, and students interested in the responsible development and use of AI in higher education\, research\, and industry. \nTarget audience\nTeachers\, researchers\, staff members\, curriculum developers\, educational leaders\, project staff\, and others interested in the responsible use of AI.\nPlease sign up below.\n
