CRAFT-IT4SD Exhibition: Crafting Futures

27.10.2026 10:00

Oamk Linnanmaa Campus / Oamk StartsLab 7A209

Join us in Oulu from 27–29 October 2026 for the CRAFT-IT4SD Final Exhibition – a three-day event exploring the intersection of craft, cultural heritage, technology, and sustainability, as part of the Oulu 2026 European Capital of Culture programme.

Bringing together artists, makers, researchers, and creative communities, the exhibition is envisioned as a multilayered experience bridging physical and digital realms. It highlights how traditional craft knowledge, creative practices, and emerging technologies can shape more sustainable futures for the cultural and creative sectors.

The programme features a curated exhibition at the Oamk Linnanmaa Campus and a virtual exhibition in a digital environment, alongside live performances combining craft, sound, movement, and storytelling, a thematic seminar with keynote talks and panel discussions, and participatory workshops on sustainable materials, digital tools, garment repair and circular design.

Highlighting prototypes and results from the CRAFT-IT4SD pilots, the event creates space for dialogue, experimentation, and collaboration across disciplines and sectors. It brings together academia, creative practitioners, small enterprises, and local communities, while foregrounding diverse cultural perspectives.

From immersive exhibitions to hands-on exploration, the event invites you to connect, learn, and reimagine the role of craft in shaping sustainable and inclusive futures.
