A) Milk Alchemy: A hands-on exploration of casein for material futures.

In this two-hour workshop, participants will engage in the transformation of milk into material by working with casein.Working in small groups, they will create and experiment with their own biomaterials, exchanging ideas and supporting each other throughout the process. The session includes a short presentation of the research behind the practice, offering insight into material development while emphasising how hands-on experimentation can open new ways of understanding and making materials from everyday resources.

B) Create your own virtual exhibition in FrameVR.

Discover how virtual spaces can bring ideas, objects and stories together. We’ll explore the CRAFT-IT4SD exhibition before introducing the basic tools in FrameVR. You’ll then create a small exhibition of your own, experimenting with layout, images, text and 3D objects. No previous experience is needed. Please bring your own laptop.

C) Clothing attachment and storytelling

Participants are invited to bring a piece of clothing or textile that holds special meaning for them. During the workshop, each person will share the story behind their item and talk about the memories, experiences, fit, or other qualities that make it special. Together, we will explore why some clothes become important to us and remain part of our lives for many years, while others are quickly forgotten. Our aim is to gain a better understanding of what creates lasting connections to clothing in a world of overproduction.

Parallel workshops – Thursday 29 October from 13:00–15:00

A) Sufficiency economy and fashion business models.

Can fashion thrive beyond overconsumption? Join this hands-on workshop to explore and co-create business models that scale product longevity, repair, reuse and extended use cycles. Working with business model prototypes, participants will remix and redesign concepts for a more sustainable fashion.

B) Additive manufacturing and 3D printing on flexible materials.

A hands-on workshop about 3D printing on flexible materials, where participants learn by doing and create simple, practical prototypes.

C) Clothing Repair and textile craft.

Participants are invited to bring a piece of clothing that needs repair. During the workshop, they will repair the item themselves with support and guidance from an experienced facilitator. We will provide a range of materials and tools, as well as an introduction to different repair techniques. The workshop offers a chance to learn new skills, share experiences, and give loved clothes a longer life.
